October brings more than just the changing of leaves and cooler weather—it brings the second annual Rocklin Mini Maker Faire, a celebration of creativity, tinkering, science, art and more. Featuring both established and emerging local “makers,” the family-friendly event includes rockets and robots, paintings and sculptures, DIY science and technology, sustainability and alternative energy, unique handmade crafts, educational workshops and presenters, and music. The City of Rocklin, along with Sierra College, hosts the event on October 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking and admission are free, so plan for a packed day of making! Interact with every booth, take a workshop, check out the dark room, listen to a presentation, climb on an art car, paint a mural, learn how to solder, and battle a robot. For more info, visit makerfairerocklin.com or follow the event on Facebook @minimakerfairerocklin.
