NorCal Cryotherapy celebrated their one-year anniversary at this mixer and ribbon cutting that included appetizers, ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery, cocktails, free cryotherapy demos, and a raffle that benefited the EDH Chamber High School Scholarship Fund.

Art of Beer Invitational
January 27 // McClellan Conference Center, Sacramento
This sixth annual event welcomed more than 1,400 attendees who received unlimited pours from 34 of the West Coast’s top breweries and small bites from farm-to-fork restaurants. The silent auction raised nearly $3,000 for Sol Collective, whose mission is to provide artistic, cultural and educational programming, promote social justice and empower youth through art, activism, music and media experience.

New Year’s Duathlon
January 7 // Granite Beach, Folsom
On a rainy day, 71 participants competed in either a two-mile run and 6.5-mile bike race, followed by another two-mile run; or a 5K. Prizes were awarded to the first, second, and third place winners; in addition, there was a raffle whose funds supported Maria and Joseph’s Ministry for the Poor.

Active 20-30 Club of Greater Sacramento Crab Feed
January 21 // Scottish Rite Masonic Center, Sacramento
Over 600 attendees participated in auctions and a raffle while enjoying an all-you-can-eat crab dinner at this 24th annual event. Approximately $60,000 was raised for the Aly and Izy Foundation, Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services, and other nonprofits.

Artmix: Light
January 12 // Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento
Radiant soul artist Zyah Belle, the Vixens of Vinyl, and DJ Shaun Slaughter drew nearly 800 guests out of the dark and on to a glowing dance floor amid the Crocker’s art galleries. Visitors delighted in dazzling digital dares, light-infused art, light-painting photography, illuminated dance performances, and the glow of Spinity Hoops.

Resolution Run
January 1 // American River Canyon, Folsom
Friends and families gathered for the annual 5K, 10K and 10-mile run along the trails of American River Canyon. Food and drinks were available for all participants, and prizes were awarded to the top finishers in each age division.

Mama Bootcamp Celebration Run
January 1 // Sutter Street, Folsom
Over 300 participants competed in this 5K and 10K that raised money for 3Strands Global and their efforts to stop human trafficking. Whole Foods Market, who is a positive power partner with Mama Bootcamp, came on board as a sponsor and provided a continental breakfast that included oatmeal, bagels and cream cheese, fresh fruit and more.

Women’s Fund El Dorado’s Community Needs Forum
January 19 // Cameron Park Community Center
El Dorado Community Foundation Executive Director Bill Roby provided insight on our community’s needs, nonprofit resources and the funding gaps between these needs and services at this educational event, which was open to all and attended by about 150 people.
