Catch All: Hot Chili and Cool Cars
Aug 29, 2017 02:40PM ● By Style
For the 24th year in a row, the Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting Hot Chili and Cool Cars along Pacific Street. What started as a simple fund-raiser is now the biggest event in South Placer—attracting over 12,000 people and covering six city blocks. This year promises classic cars ('73 and older), live music from Mark Mackay, children's activities and, of course, a chili cook-off. ”From the moment we open the chili tasting, there are lines of people at each booth, and it stays that way all day long. It’s very rewarding to see our community gather in one place!" says Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce VP of Operations Tiffany Neilson. Admission is free, but a portion of proceeds from the raffle and chili kits will benefit the Matt Redding Foundation, Rocklin Public Safety Volunteers, the Whitney High School Marching Band and various other nonprofits. According to Neilson, "Hot Chili is an event you can bring your whole family to, and everyone will walk away feeling like the event was made just for them!"—Emily Peter
