Introducing: David Keller from Mr. Codes Wild Ride

412 East Bidwell Street, Folsom, 916-668-4887, mrcodeswildride.com

Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I teach real-world coding to kids in grades 5-12. I learned coding when I was 13 years old and immediately fell in love with it, because it empowered me to make my own computer games. I went on to write code professionally for companies like Microsoft and Zillow, but after doing that for almost 10 years decided my real passion was inspiring kids to code.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

I have 10 years of professional coding experience and a real passion for teaching kids to code. What's more, I tailor what I teach to each student's individual interest.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

I have a hobby of visiting the highest point in elevation of different states, whether it involves climbing a mountain or finding the highest spot in a cornfield; so far, I've conquered 32 state highpoints.

What’s your hidden talent?

Playing difficult pieces on the piano.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Working with brilliant and passionate kids and seeing the cool projects they build.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

The first time I made my own computer game and showed it to my dad. It was a text adventure game, and I had my dad play all the way through it. I was so proud of what I made.

And finally, customer service is…?

Empowering kids to build apps and games they’re passionate about making, even if it means staying after class with them or answering their emails at home.
