Yoshi Ramen in Granite Bay doesn’t just serve good food, it’s also authentic: Hakata-style ramen made from boiling pork bones and chicken bones for 24 hours. Their shoyu ramen is a delicious dish of intense, deeply flavored chicken broth alongside thick, bouncy noodles, green onions, a soft-boiled egg, melt-in-your-mouth chashu chicken, seasoned bamboo shoots, sesame seeds, and nori (seaweed). They have several other ramens to choose from, too; if you think spice is nice, try the red ramen—made with spicy chicken bone broth, noodles, ground beef, house-made aroma oil, a soft-boiled egg, kikurage (wood-ear mushrooms), bamboo shoots, bok choy, corn, nori, and dried chili threads. One of my other favorites here (besides the steaming bowls of ramen, of course), are the golden shroomz: deep-fried mushrooms stuffed with cream cheese and spicy crab, topped with a house special sauce that I could personally put on everything. Other starters include edamame, shrimp tempura, agedashi tofu, and gyoza (another must-try, in my foodie opinion). Hungry for a good rice bowl? Try the chicken or salmon teriyaki bowl topped with steamed broccoli and served with miso soup. Their sushi, particularly the dragon roll—filled with crab mix and deep-fried shrimp, then topped with avocado, unagi, and that amazing house-made special sauce—is worth ordering, too. With counter service, a casual vibe, and ample options for all appetites, Yoshi Ramen guarantees a positively pleasing experience.
