Drink around the world without leaving Loomis. Le Bon Vin, which means “the good wine,” invites you to explore vinos (by the bottle, the glass, or the flight) from South Africa, France, South America, Georgia (the country), and everywhere in between. The cozy tasting room/bottle shop offers a warm, intimate ambiance, paired with a knowledgeable, friendly staff. And those chairs? Easily the most comfortable I’ve ever sat in! On my visit, I ordered the Jabber Sauvignon Blanc from Chile, described as having a “textured, medium-bodied palate with elegant white fruit and a dry but flavorful finish.” How was it? Délicieuse! It paired perfectly alongside their charcuterie board, which came with meats and cheeses of my choosing, plus crackers, nuts, mustard, jam, olives, and fruit. Boards are available for one, two, four, or six people. Don’t skip the dessert charcuterie board or one of their “gourmet grilled cheeses” (offerings include blue cheese and bacon; walnut, apple, and brie; or ham and cheddar). All are divine! Le Bon’s wine list changes periodically, but you can always count on bubbles, whites, reds, rosés, and dessert wines. Having trouble choosing? Order one of their thoughtfully curated flights: Around the World Red Flight, West Coast-Best Coast Flight, Old-World White Flight, and (for those who prefer their vino on the sweeter side) the Sweetest Flight. Would you rather sip on a beer or cider? No worries! They’re on the menu, too. Sip and stay awhile; no passport required.
