Living History at Marshall Gold Discovery SHP
Living history demonstrations and activities to commemorate the gold discovery in 1848
Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park in Coloma, California, comes alive the second Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the picnic area behind the museum. Experience what life was like during the California Gold Rush. Visit the miners’ store, the claims office, or the laundress. Learn skills such as coopering and blacksmithing. And don't forget to visit Sutter’s Mill and the Millworkers’ Cabin. Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park is located in the town of Coloma, 8 miles north of Placerville and 18 miles south of Auburn on Highway 49.
