Sonrisa Senior Living debuts “Feeling Our Age,” an art exhibition by Pacific Northwest artist Kathleen Cosgrove, whose art has been showcased throughout the U.S., that celebrates the inherent beauty and power in aging. The exhibition features 65 paintings of women over the age of 60, alongside personal essays that divulge the subjects’ personal stories, unique challenges of growing older, and plans for the future.
The “Feeling Our Age” exhibition complements Sonrisa Senior Living’s rich collection of arts and cultural programming. The community’s calendar of events is designed to enrich the mind, nourish the soul, and encourage residents to discover new friendships and hobbies. For example, Watermark University is an award-winning program that encourages residents, associates, and community members to share their areas of interest and expertise with residents. The community also is home to several resident-formed clubs that encourage deeper exploration of common topics in the arts, from fine arts to literary arts, to culinary arts. The “Feeling Our Age” exhibition opened with a celebratory reception on March 6 in honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month. The exhibition will be on view until Spring 2025.
